Fees

The fee for a standard therapy consultation of 50-55 minutes is $200.

With a GP referral, your out-of-pocket cost is $107.10.

The fee covers a comprehensive initial assessment, tailored formulation and treatment plan, session preparation, ongoing review, communication with referrers, research and consultation, completion of case notes and complimentary processing of your Medicare rebate.

It’s important to know what you are paying for - you can learn about what my fee covers in detail here.

Payment

Payment of the full fee is required on the day of your appointment by online processing of your credit card. Please be assured that payments are securely processed using Halaxy, a Level 1 certified Payment Card Industry provider (the highest level of security).

Referrals

You are welcome to request an appointment without a referral.

Medicare will cover part of the consultation fee if a Mental Health Treatment Plan is provided. Please book a long (20 minute) appointment with your GP to discuss your eligibility.

Your health insurance provider may provide a rebate for psychology sessions without a referral. The rebate amount differs depending on your insurance provider and level of ancillary cover, so please contact your provider for advice.

Bronwyn welcomes referrals from other healthcare professionals.

Do you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan?

The cost of seeing a psychologist can vary considerably depending on whether the session is covered by Medicare or not.

I recommend speaking to your GP about your eligibility for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Patients with a Plan are able to claim a rebate from Medicare for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year, which significantly reduces their out-of-pocket expenses.
